St. Madoe's War Memorial

Included amongst the names on this memorial is:

HERBERT WILSON LEITHAM

Second Lieutenant, "D" Company, 8th (Service) Battalion, Black Watch (Royal Highlanders)

Died on 17 October 1918 from wounds received during the capture of St. Eloi, Belgium, on 14 October 1918.  Age 19.

Born at St. Madoe's and commissioned while studying Science at St. Andrew's University.

Youngest son of John and Eleanora Leitham, of St. Madoes, Perthshire.
