Died on Saturday, 22nd February 1919. Age 32.

Born at Johnshaven, Kincardineshire.

Son of James Arbuthnott, of Anderson's Buildings, Inverkeilor, and the late Mary Arbuthnott.

Killed in action on Friday, 25th August 1916. Age 23.

Born at Craig and enlisted at Carnoustie in September 1914..

The first Police Constable from Forfarshire Constabulary to be killed during the War.

Recommended for the Military Medal shortly before his death for consistent good work with “C” Battery.

Eldest son of David S. and Jessie N. Hogg (nee Murray), of Denfield, Arbroath; brother of James Hogg, Private 1st Battalion, Black Watch, and the late George Edward Hogg, Private 11261, 1st Battalion, Scots Guards.

Killed in action at the Battle of Loos on Monday, 27th September 1915. Age 20.

Born at Montrose, lived at Arbroath, and enlisted at Forfar on 19th September 1914.

Second son of David S. and Jessie N. Hogg (nee Murray), of Denfield, Arbroath; brother of James Hogg, Private 1st Battalion, Black Watch, and David Scott Hogg, Sergeant 7896, 73rd Brigade, Royal Field Artillery.

Lance Corporal 161262, 54th Battalion, Canadian Infantry (Central Ontario Regiment)

Killed in action on Monday, 9th April 1917. Age 32.

Born at Laurencekirk, Kincardineshire, and enlisted at Calgary.

Son of Mrs. Jane Moug, of Mains of Guynd, Arbroath.

LA CHAUDIERE MILITARY CEMETERY

His citation for the Military Medal, dated 9th July 1917, states…

"In the attack by the 54th Canadian Infantry Battalion against Vimy Ridge (Berthonval Sector) on April 9th, 1917, was in charge of the Lewis Gun crew of his platoon, which reached this objective on the right flank of the Battalion. He brought his crew into action with great promptness and was of great assistance in covering the consolidation, in spite of serious resistance. He was wounded during the advance, but remained with his crew until the consolidation was accomplished and the situation normal. His conduct was a splendid example of courage and endurance."

Died of wounds on Wednesday, 19th May 1915. Age 31.

Born at Arbroath, lived at Denhead, and enlisted at Friockheim.

A soldier with 7 years service with the Colours and 1 year as a reservist.  Employed in the Hastings Jute Mills, Calcutta, India, at the outbreak of the War.

Son of Murdoch McAulay, of Inverkeilor, and brother of George McAulay, Private 814, 2nd Battalion, Black Watch.

Killed in action on Friday, 21st January 1916.

Born at Arbroath and enlisted at Friockheim.

Son of Murdoch McAulay, of Inverkeilor, and brother of the late David McAulay, Private 815, 2nd Battalion, Black Watch.

Killed in action at the Somme by the explosion of a shell on Monday, 16th October 1916. Age 28.

Born at Arbroath, lived and enlisted at Calgary.

Son of the late Mr. And Mrs. James Pattullo, of Airdrie, Alberta; husband of Mary A. Pattullo (nee Cathro), of 739 18th Avenue North West, Calgary, Alberta.

Lance Corporal S/30672, 5th Battalion, Cameron Highlanders

Shot by a sniper and died of wounds received three days later on Tuesday, 1st October 1918. Age 20.

Previously wounded three times and gassed.

Born at Lunan, lived at Montrose, and enlisted in June 1917 at Perth.

Grandson of David and Mary Taylor, of Lunan Mill, Inverkeilor.

Formerly a Constable with the Leith Police Force.

Son of the late James and Mary Todd, of Friockheim.
