IN GRATEFUL REMEMBRANCE OF THE MEN BELONGING TO THE PARISH OF LINTRATHEN WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918

JOHN HIGH

Corporal 420735, 16th Battalion, Canadian Infantry (Manitoba Regiment)

Died on 8th October 1916. Age 28.

Son of Isabella High, of 9 Brown's Lane, Kirriemuir, and the late John High;

brother of Gordon High, Private 420736, Canadian Infantry,

and Alexander High, Private 31622, Highland Light Infantry.

 

WILLIAM M. ANDERSON

Lance Corporal S/8708, 1st Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders

Killed in action on 6th April 1916. Age 25.

Son of Mr. and Mrs. William Anderson, of Craigieloch, Lintrathen, Kirriemuir.

  

WILLIAM JOHNSTON

Lance Corporal G/18329, 2nd Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment

Died of wounds on 5th November 1918. Age 26.

Son of Mary Mathers Johnston, of Kinnaird, Lintrathen, Kirriemuir, and the late William Johnston.

 

ALEXANDER CLARK

Private S/24633, "D" Company, 2nd Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders

Killed in action on 2nd November 1918. Age 19.

Son of Alexander and Margaret M. Clark, of Clintlaw, Backwater, Alyth, Perthshire.

 

MALCOLM JAMES CAMPBELL

Private 53323, 18th Battalion, Canadian Infantry (Western Ontario Regiment)

Died on 13th October 1915. Age 21.

Native of Tayport, Fife.

Son of Mary S. Campbell, of Wateresk Schoolhouse, Kirriemuir, and the late Malcolm Campbell.

 

WILLIAM BROWN

Private, Black Watch (Royal Highlanders)

 

STEWART ROBERTSON OGILVY

Private 202221, 4/5th (Angus & Dundee) Battalion (Territorial Force), Black Watch

Killed in action on 19th August 1918. Age 38.

Husband of Sarah M. B. Ogilvy, of Alyth, Perthshire.

 

JAMES DUNDAS OGILVY

Private S/6008, 10th (Service) Battalion, Black Watch

Died of wounds on 18th October 1915. Age 21.

Son of Stewart and Isabella Anderson Ogilvy, of Easter Rayemie, Lintrathen, Kirriemuir.

 

BAIN SMITH

Private S/21646, 4/5th (Angus & Dundee) Battalion (Territorial Force), Black Watch

Died of wounds on 29th April 1918. Age 22.

Son of John and Margaret Smith, of Foldend, Lintrathen, Kirriemuir.

 

DAVID STURROCK

Private 33382, "A" Company, 17th (Service) Battalion (3rd Glasgow), Highland Light Infantry

Killed in action on 18th November 1916. Age 23.

Son of Mrs. Jessie Sturrock, of Wardend, Lintrathen, Kirriemuir.

 

ALEXANDER HIGH

Private 31622, 16th (Service) Battalion (2nd Glasgow), Highland Light Infantry

Died on 23rd July 1917. Age 23.

Son of Isabella High, of 9 Brown's Lane, Kirriemuir, and the late John High; brother of Gordon High, Private 420736, Canadian Infantry, and John High, 420735, Canadian Infantry.
