CHARLES WILL STEWART

Private 149, 2nd Battalion, Gordon Highlanders

Died of wounds on Friday, 30th October 1914.  Age 21.

Born at Lethnot and enlisted at Brechin.

Son of Griffith and Catherine Barclay Ross Stewart, of Mains of Kinnettles, Forfar.

BOULOGNE EASTERN CEMETERY

 

JOHN LINDSAY DUNCAN

Private 2646, 5th (Angus & Dundee) Battalion (Territorial Force), Black Watch (Royal Highlanders)

Died on Monday, 10th May 1915, from wounds received at the Battle of Aubers Ridge.  Age 19.

Born and enlisted at Edzell.

Son of David Duncan, of Auldtown, Lethnot, Brechin.

formerly Private 3338, 5th (Angus & Dundee) Battalion (Territorial Force), Black Watch (Royal Highlanders)

Killed in action on Wednesday, 24th January 1917.  Age 20.

Born at Knowhead, Menmuir, Brechin, and enlisted at Brechin.

Son of James Gordon and Betsy Ann Gordon (nee Pratt), of Bridgend, Lethnot, Brechin.

ALEXANDER HOOD McKENZIE

Private 26140, 12th (Service) Battalion, Royal Scots (Lothian Regiment) attached 27th Trench Mortar Battery

Died on Wednesday, 18th April 1917, from wounds received at Arras.  Age 19.

Born at Clochie, Lethnot, and enlisted at Brechin.

Son of William McKenzie and Mary McKenzie (nee Hood), of Clochie, Lethnot, Brechin.

Died at Tullibardine, Lethnot, on 17th July 1920.  Age 27.

Son of John Gibb and Elizabeth Ann Gibb (nee Davidson).
