Consular Chaplain at Alexandria, 1909-1911 and an ordained Minister of the Church of Scotland. Son of the Reverend Robert Scott, D.D., and Mary Jobson Scott, of Craig.

His citation for the Military Cross, dated 22nd April 1918, states…

"For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. When an officer was wounded in a front-line observation post, he immediately went forward through a very heavy barrage to take his place and direct the fire of the battery. His gallantry cannot be too highly praised, and his services were invaluable."
